Here Welcome to the Gujarat Quiz We Here Having Test Special For All Government Jobs Available in Gujarat .Today Guys we Are going to take the Test Regarding Operating System from computer

Although the CPU works very fast, it can basically do simple tasks like adding two numbers or multiplying two numbers, etc., no more.  With its basic capabilities, simple tasks like inputting a number, outputting a number, or capitalizing a text, or displaying an image on a screen, are performed with a series of instructions.  Computers also have a number of units such as keyboards, mass, monitors, hard disks, optical disks, printers and other replaceable devices.

The operation of these units requires the implementation of long and complicated series of basic instructions.  Advanced computer systems have many different types of devices such as CPU, memory, secondary storage, network, peripheral devices, etc.  Sometimes several programs executing simultaneously on behalf of a number of users with different access rights use all of these units together.  It is thus clear that there is a need for an authority to exercise control over these units and to mediate their use.  Without any kind of software to perform the above functions, the computer is literally a useless unit, as it does not have a basic bridge to interact with the user.

A common framework is needed for normal human-computer interaction to give the user a consistent experience of using a computer.  Such a structure should provide a variety of abstractions and metaphors to make the computer easier to use.  The file system metaphor (file system metaphor) is one such example, which is discussed in detail later in this chapter.  There is an operating system to meet all these requirements.  Since it controls the entire system, the program is first started when the computer is turned on.

What is an Operating System?

An operating system is software that controls a computer system, allocates resources, and manages frequently used general services.  Like the government, it ensures that these computer functions are performed smoothly and without much difficulty.

Functions of an Operating System: The operating system performs a variety of functions as

general service,

facilitating hardware access,

controlling computer resources,

running them properly, and monitoring them.

Turn on and off the handling program of the multiprocessor system.

Providing security and providing other general services.
