The Code of Criminal Procedure also had to be amended over time in 1898, with amendments made in 1923 and 1955. With the advent of technology over time, the nature of crime increased, and the law of 1898 became a necessity of the time and incapable of curbing crime. The Criminal Procedure Code came into force in 1973. In this Samhita, the form of Samhita of 1898 was kept in the same form. How many sections of the 1898 Act were completely repealed and shortened some stages for speedy disposal of justice. The law was enacted by the Indian Parliament on January 25, 1974. Thus the law came into force on April 1, 1974.
